Blatant Stealth Camping Under Tree

I finally got back out to do a night of stealth camping in a very exposed spot. There was heavy traffic and very minimal cover, but I managed to camp underneath two trees for the night and remained hidden from view. It's still winter so it was a bit chilly, but sitting still really got me feeling cold. It was a fun trip nonetheless! Once I crawled into my sleeping bag it got quite warm and aside from the traffic noise and bumpy ground it was a great sleep!

  • My growing suspension is that everyone in Canada is a Camping with Steve fan, and would never dream of interrupting one of his adventures.

Imagine being at a rest stop late at night and hearing someone talking in the bushes , you walk towards the sound and when you move the tree branches out of the way you find a lone gentleman eating fondue in front of a camera

Walk into my post office. Hear a woman talking about getting something liquid to relieve her stress after dinner. So I said "Step Two" out loud. She spun around and said, "You watch camping with Steve too?" Greetings From WA, USA.

"Doesn't get better than this" as he's sitting on the ground outside in a random field next to a tree sipping a beer. Steve is the best
  • @tsar-bomba2413
Who else thinks Steve should create a new beer called step two.... It'd be a hit for sure

I found Steve's videos when I was recovering from surgery last fall. We used to call this bandit camping and it was a way to get some sleep and a little food before hitting the Presidential Range in NH. Watching him never gets old. I am watching Steve again because I needed another procedure and this is the only thing keeping me sane. Cancer sucks.

I’ve been watching your videos for well over a year now. I was so afraid that you had left for good when we hadn’t seen you for a while. super happy to see you’re still around. There’s something very comforting about watching your camping trips, how friendly you are, And just a decent human being. I think I speak for all of us. Thank you for what you do. We appreciate it more than you know. God bless brother
  • I appreciate your videos because I have lost multiple family members in the past couple years. I am moving forward, and it is encouraging to see you doing the same.

The hanging the glasses in the tree, clever story foreshadowing. Thanks for these most Canadian of videos.

I love your videos. I stealth camped for an entire winter underneath a fallen oak tree that may have been perhaps over a hundred years old. Heavy storms and prevailing winds had taken their toll. Indiana. It was particularly cold that winter yet I managed to survive with only a 10 spd. bike and the resources I had previously acquired. I always made it a point to not appear as if I were homeless. I would take "bird baths" in numerous facilities and largely remained "obscure." It was the best time I ever had in my life!

Steve I know when you implied that you weren't a valuable member of society (6:40) it was just meant as a bit of self deprecating humor and not meant to be taken seriously, but if at any time you do feel like that, even a bit, I want you to know that the content you make actually holds a lot of meaning to most of us here. For me at least, I haven't been able to go camping in at least 4 years, and I used to go with family all the time. I miss the time I used to spend with family dearly, but when I watch your videos I get a bit of that feeling of loving being outdoors, even if it's just from a moment of escapism. Please know that, even though you don't know the millions of people who watch your content, that it still means tons to use that you upload and share something so wonderful with the world.

The thing everyone loves about Steve is that he has the humility a full grown man should have, he respects others and knows his place in the world. We love you Steve keep doing what you do, it hasn't hurt anyone

You know what's odd? I never thought I'd be so entertained by watching a guy do all sorts of camping in unique settings, and it seems that I'm not the only one. His vids seem to bring joy to a lot of people, and that's just 😢awesome. 👍
  • @Slureify
Funny thing is those "award worthy" washrooms actually have won awards for being the nicest cleanest public washrooms in Canada.
  • @nal2us2
Best wishes for Crazy Neighbor Steve. Just said a prayer for him!!!
