Published 2021-02-04
This chicken salad is amazing, the combination of grapes with pecans, mixed in with a creamy mixture of mayonnaise, dijon mustard and honey go so beautiful with the perfectly juicy chicken. It's so easy to make and always ready to go, you pack it up and take it to work or school and it'll never let you down.

So guess what? you sparked something in me, I'll be heading toward the kitchen with your recipes in tow. Don't change anything in your presentations. • Rachel cooks with LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! I am disabled and you have inspired me to get into the kitchen again and the meals are helping both me and my husband (who suffers from MS), to eat more and feel better. When you don't feel well ALL THE TIME, it's difficult to fight back. Thank you, Rachel, you have given us something to look forward to with every new recipe that I try. God bless you!
  • Im 90 yrs old , but cook a lot because I have 3 other family members living with me and I love to cook! This is the best chicken salad I have seen, just finished making it and it is DELICIOUS!!! Made it exactly as you did, those roasted pecans in butter, the grapes, everything!!! Thank you,Rachel! God continue to bless you!
  • Rachel, I'm 70 and also don't cook much "from scratch" anymore. Gotta make this soon. I completely agree with MANY OTHERS' comments -- your style, ESPECIALLY explaining steps in such detail, helps everyone be a better cook -- whether they are in their 70s, or "youngsters" just learning to cook! Thank you!

You’re so adorable talking about “your” Ron. He is blessed to have you as a wife .
  • I've made my chicken salad that way for decades, minus the onions. I even won first prize with it several years ago. Best ever!!

This is a TRUE Texas lady! (The HEB on her products was a give-away! LOL!). I’m in Houston and it’s the ‘4th of July.’ This is the BEST chicken salad, EVER! All other chicken salad recipes can EXIT the room. We’re preparing Chicken Tinga tacos, but until that’s ready, I’m offering my greedy, hungry family THIS chicken salad on croissants. The bowl is OFFICIALLY empty. Love this lady’s channel!

My daughter, my aunt and I spent the morning canning Italian stewed tomatoes today and I made your chicken salad for our lunch. It was a hit! Personally, I think this is the best chicken salad I’ve ever made. Thank you for the recipe, it will now be the only one I make.

I am in my 70s and live alone. I enjoy cooking and am always looking for new recipes but you seem to have so many of the recipes I want to master... everything I have tried of yours has turned out great! You are the real deal! Don't change!🥰

the love you have for cooking and for your Ron is so evident! my mom-in-love packs a lunch for her Tom for those days he plays golf as well. He is 94 and she is 90. Love keeps us going strong! thank you for sharing, i am trying this tonight.
  • Rachel, I made your Chicken Salad. I am not a good cook, however, most people think I am because I have to follow a recipe. I made the Chicken Salad for my church's 50's And Above Monthly Gathering. The Chicken Salad was a great hit. Several people asked where was the Chicken Salad. It went quick. I promised to make more for next month. Thank you for your recipes. Thank you for your sunny and delightful personality. You are a wonderful cooking teacher. I look forward to learning more from you. I am 70 years old and I still can learn. God bless you and your husband.

Your caring demeanor is so inspiring during an era of feminism, where women get criticized for “catering” to their husbands. I love that you prepared yourself a sandwich demonstrating your time preparing food was not solely for him but rather for you both! In addition, you doing your own thing, (cooking, sewing, etc.) while he is golfing, teaches us all much more about relationships than just preparing a scrumptious chicken salad sandwich for Ron! God bless both you and your hubby! “Estómago lleno, corazón contento!”
  • Oh goodness. I’ve been making this exact salad style for years. Love the Latina tone coming through with no music drowning it out. Thanks for sharing.😉
  • I was never taught much about cooking but I try my best. I like the way you take the time to explain why you choose to do the things you do. I find it very helpful. I can't wait to try your chicken salad and beef stew recipes. Thank you!
  • @Cathy-wf3zz
Racel, I am 70 years old & an invalid but my caregiver helps me cook. I'm going to try to make your delicious chicken salad. Thanks for the recipe! God bless! 😊
  • @pattilton5516
Best chicken salad recipe !! Every ingredient and seasoning is perfect and the way you explain and demonstrate gives such encouragement and sense of confidence! You have such a gift from God!! BTW if anyone hasn't tried your meatloaf recipe or thinks they don't like meatloaf they need to look it up its awesome!! Thank you for the way you do what you do!❤❤❤
  • I made your chicken salad and croissant for our Labor Day picnic this week. It was excellent and everyone loved it!
  • @hillgal
Rachel, I made this last week and just finished it today. It is the best chicken salad filling that I have made. This is a keeper for everyone. I am 85 and love to cook. I also made your enchilada casserole and that is to die for and so easy. I love all you recipes and you too.🥰
  • @Trilogy1-1-1
I'm looking forward to making this recipe Rachel. I just love chicken salad! It looks so delicious. The comment by Dorothy (below) the 90 year old lady who is also inspired by your cooking and recipes really warmed my heart ❤️ today. God bless her, and you too! 🙏
