Thanks, it came in handy against a big bully my brothers were scared to fight. I grabbed a few smooth stones from a stream and settled things in single combat. Big guy never saw it coming. Got him right between the eyes. His gang fled and we chased after them. They didn't mess with us anymore.

If anyone wants to make a sling large enough to throw tennis balls, here are some tips learned through trial and error: - It used up 40 feet (12.19 m) of 550 paracord and my wingspan is 72 in (182.88 cm) - 2:15 - make 5 loops instead of 2 so it's wide enough to hold the ball, each loop was 8 1/2 in (21.59 cm) long. You can shorten horizontally later. - 3:19 - To get a nice diamond pattern and not a checkered pattern, loosely weave up and down. You can shorten vertically later. - 6:40 - When finished, you can begin gently shortening the vertical weaves until 3 in (7.62 cm). - 7:05 - The horizontal loops can be shorten from 8 to 6 in (15.24 cm) at minimum and consistently hold a tennis ball. Any shorter and the ball starts to fall out more easily. - 9:34 - I recommend setting the length of the strands by holding the pouch in one hand and pulling the strands to the corner of your mouth, like the draw length of a bow. At this length you have the option of throwing overhand, underhand, and Greek style if you wanted to. - My final sling dimensions: Pouch was 6x3 in (15.24x7.62 cm) and strand length with knot/loop was 28 in (71.12 cm). Pouch dimensions are more important than strand length. Have fun slinging out there

A couple years back I made a lot of these and got super accurate with it

The first attempt turned out passable. The second attempt turned out just perfectly. Thank you! I'll start practicing tomorrow. :-)

Nice, I'll make a few. Thanks for the video.

Step 0: Spend 3 hours trying to untangle your paracord so that you can proceed to step 1.
  • Three quarters done and I've only had seven major strokes and two aneurysms

What a pita lol. Its my first time weaving paracord ever. I made a jig with two nails to hold the two rabbits ears while I weaved back and forth and sinched along the way. Best tutorials and easy to follow. I will be making some other stuff too! Thanks!
  • After 30 minutes of trying to get the first initial loop(s) down, I can officially say I'm the proud owner of a sling.

I would recommend hooking the bunny ears onto nails nailed onto a 2×4 as my brother tried to make this and had countless mental breakdowns as the paracord kept getting tangled during the first few weaves

That's the simplest demonstration I have seen yet thank you and keep up the good

I recently discovered this channel and I love it

Great job!! Good video camera work explains everything. I made a awesome sling out of black paracord. Took me a few attempts to get the right size get things evened up but yeah great job thank you!
  • Thanks for the how-to. I imagine that a block of wood with some spaced nails to hold the double loop + dowel to maintain a vertical gap would essentially create a simple loom and free your hands to weave the cup. I've also seen people use their toes as a 3rd set of fingers (when weaving woven sandals) to free one hand up for weaving.
