Main video here -    • How a Tranquilizer Dart Works in Slow...
Sometimes we balls up so much that it warrants it's own video. Filming how tranquilizer darts work was one of those times. This video contains all the balls ups, and all the moments that if I left in, the main video would be about 25 minutes long. Would you like outtakes for more future videos? Let us know!

For those wondering about our process, every single episode we've ever made has been unscripted. The one exception is the little end cards we did for Super Slow Show ("did you like that video? maybe you'll enjoy this video we did about wrestling" etc). Youtube wrote those. We always start talking on camera and see where the conversation goes. If we flub or get sidetracked or need to be more concise, we repeat the previous sentence before we stopped and then keep going. It ends up being more natural on camera that way when nothing is pre-written and we're mostly using the first take. Sometimes we get stuck on the same bit for a few attempts before we're able to get through it all as seen in this video! - Gav

Slo-mo guys: Been on YouTube for 9 plus years and is also one of the most popular science/visually stunning channels ever Also slo-mo guys: "I think we may be good at this"
  • @chrissie9865
I love how Dan says "I think we're pretty good at this" just out of the blue. Keeping team morale up.

It just blows my mind how i didn't notice any of this awkwarddness in the real video and i am so surprised the video got released at all!
  • @Makverus
You know what I really, really like about the whole "blowdarting kids" thing? Gavin absent-mindedly responds with "Go on", in exactly the same manner Burnie did so many times on the podcast in response to him. Guess it rubbed of over the years :)
  • @SportDCS
You can literally see the hamsters stumble in Gav’s head at 5:29 trying to work out what Dan was saying... LMAO
  • @corivian
“I think were pretty good at this. Wot? This whole process. You mean making videos? Ye.” Did you only realize this now?! After all those years lmao
  • @MrNicoJac
Seeing how awkward and stumbling you guys can be when doing this, is a MASSIVE boost to my self esteem. Now I finally get what they mean when they say social media only shows you the highlight reels of someone's life! So thank you -a less experienced and even more stumbling normal person 😆

Gavin saying an entire speech and Dan saying two words and flubbing has to be one of the funniest things. It would drive me crazy having to do that take over.
  • @Utonian21
"So, our gorilla got a nice fat bruise, instead of a vaccination..." Y'all almost made me choke 😂😂
  • Slow mo guys 1 - Gavin is smart, clean and knowledgeable. Slow mo guys 2 - AH Gav at home with expensive toys and B. I enjoy seeing the professional side, but the silly side is why I'm subbed everywhere.
  • @Chef_PC
I love how Dan always simultaneously plays the “dumb” one AND the “smart” one in every video.
  • Gavin: does entire paragraph and has no issues Dan: Says maybe 10 words and flubs it Priceless
  • @dylanblack8714
5:35 Dan has officially destroyed all anti vaxxers single handily. This brave souls saving children’s lives God bless him.
  • @YayMiko
SlowMo Guys: wildly successful, millions of views and subs, got their own YouTube show Dan, just now: “...I think we’re pretty good at this.” (4:13) (Also, Dan’s Goldfish Memory would make an awesome compilation video)
  • @BooN877
I love that pained pause Gavin makes after a bad take, lol and Dan repeatedly raising his eyebrows to act surprised gets funnier the more times he has to do it. Dan, I believed you were surprised, great acting 👌

This is the best thing I've ever watched. Seeing the "reality" of how the video is made makes it seems more genuine in comparison to the polished finished video (I.e. the difference between real Gavin and on screen Gavin). I wish I could see the the back ground stuff of other projects aswell. Top content.

"Tranquilizer Dart Outtakes" sounds like the name of the most metal band ever.
  • @KROWEE_STRONG
I had no idea so many takes are required. It seems so conversational and natural. Great Work Gav and Dan.
