Israel-Hamas war: Number of living hostages unknown, terror group claims | LiveNOW from FOX

Published 2024-06-14
Nobody knows how many of the more than 100 hostages kidnapped by terrorists on Oct. 7 are still alive, a senior Hamas official said.

Osama Hamdan was asked by CNN about the number of living hostages to which he replied, “I don’t have any idea about that … no one has an idea about this.”

During the interview, Hamdan blamed Israel for the mental state of the four hostages rescued during a special operation last weekend despite the fact that it was terrorists who kidnapped them and held them hostage for eight months.

The interview came as the tensions between Israel and Hezbollah in the north intensified with the terror group launching its largest attack on the north from Lebanon since Oct. 7.

Nimrod Goren, the senior fellow for Israeli Affairs at the Middle East Institute joined LiveNOW from FOX’s Josh Breslow to discuss the breaking details out of the Middle East.

Why the UN and the world does not condemn HAMAS for kidnapping and hostaging?
  • @jamesb9499
If Hostages are not alive, there is no need for ceasefire talk. Why waste time?
  • @wickertwm
Israel should declare that they no longer know how many Palestinian prisoners are still alive.
  • @enginkara2902
It does not take a genius to tell Hamas and Palestinians are the same,They are cut from the same cloth, yet to hear one Palestinian to denounce evil, barbaric Hamas…
  • @iridefast1
Captured by Palestinians. Being held by Palestinians. Then rescued from the Palestinians.
  • The hostages are not roaming around on their own, therefore the terrorist and their supporters know where the hostages are located

It is time for the Palestinians to except that Israel has the full right to exist and to defend itself!!!! stop fighting all the time, we are in the 21st century, stop living in the past!!!!! move on!!!!!

Can’t keep track of hostages however they seem to know exactly how many innocents have been killed. Do they take everyone for fools?
  • @user-ck1ti7xh3i
The Palestinians lost my support after the horrible, barbaric, brutal attack on the 7th of October!!! Nothing justifies what they had done!!!!! (and doing)
  • I never expected the terrorists to be smart enough to be able to count so i'm not surprised by this
  • These fools want their prisoners released but don’t know hostages are
  • @BalancedSpeaker
If Hamas does not know how many hostages are alive ….then with what are they bringing to the negotiating table ?

So Hamas a Terrorist Organisation took and has still +100 hostage somewhere but it doesn't know where they are or if they are still alive. Unbelievable but this shows how well these terrorist operate. So there can be no deal, until Hamas can come with proof of life. Until then Israel needs to keep on searching. I only wish that those other nations who still have people that are still a hostage of Hamas would help Israel with the search for these people. If I was taken Hostage by a Terrorist Organisation I hope my country will send in Delta squad or Navy Seals to search and rescue me.

The IDF should cut off all water, food, fuel to any areas of the Gaza Strip not directly controlled by Israel, tent cities declared safe zones by the IDF will be the only place to receive humanitarian assistance along with the opportunity to immigrate to Norway, Ireland, Spain

taking of hostages” are considered as an exceptionally serious war crime and as a serious violation of the principles and rules of international law applicable in armed conflict. Yet many praise Hamas.
