I would like to propose that Perspective is the best thing on YouTube. Such a gift to be able to spend time with Waldemar.

Waldemar Januszczak could create a documentary about grass growing, and I'd be utterly enthralled.

The narrative of Manet's painting is so good it hurts. BRAVO Waldemar,!!
  • Waldameer is a national treasure. A genius in his own right

He’s cheeky; intelligent, funny, creative. Thank you for making art interesting, Waldemar!

Thank you, Waldemar for the eye-popping interpretations and perceptive detective work, such as solving the rural Gainsborough painting mystery. You do operate on more than one level and we all benefit!
  • Years ago I was at the Louvre and stood amid dozens of other tourists staring at the Mona Lisa. Right next to me was a man with a group of tourists from Japan. I gagged as I noticed he had a mound of EAR WAX sticking out of his ear...So there I was looking at such a famous and beautiful painting and next to me was this gross sight. I still snicker at the contrast. I love to tell this story.  Steve from Minneapolis.

  • I love this man. We are lucky to have his thoughtful and researched opinions! The "Marriage of ..." is just so well done. He has put YEARS into his research and brings us such in-depth observations. The more of these videos i watch, the more impressed i am.

You are the funniest presenter of some of the most beautiful art in our world. Not only do you take us and give us an up close and personal view of art we would never be able to see on our own, but you also add information and interpretation that I'm sure we would never get anywhere else. Your unique descriiptions and the rare stories you choose to share with us make it always a joy and surprise to be educated by you. Thank you

Some people just are truly generous. Keep the good work, Sir! I really love it. hugs from Brazil

I did art history at school and loathed , Waldemar makes it absolutely fascinating and relevant. I love him and have even started reading some art history works recently . It’s a miracle.

The Arnolfini Marriage painting was in my history book in the late 80's here in Ireland. I'm so honestly thrilled to see it being treated exactly as I couldn't put my finger on all those years ago.... And to think that the painting is 589 years old now...... Been burrowing my way thru the rabbit-hole of Waldemar videos here on the Perspective channel for the last two weeks. Never felt more appreciative of anyone in a longgg time... Thanks for producing this Waldemar Januszczak, and for uploading Perspective 🙏👏👍👍

Your solution to the mystery of the Tempest is the ONLY plausible sounding one of all the solutions I've read through the years. Simple, elegant, your explaination leaves nothing out. At the same time it covers new, unexplored territory (the cranes) deftly scoring point after point. Also, I'm so intrigued at how disparaging your tone can be when discussing Da Vinci. Then, suddenly, a 180 and BOOM! Back to respect. Felt the same way when observing my first Rembrandt face-to-face. Ended up studying it for hours. Easily! Breath taking.

I feel that it's her EXPRESSION that is unique in all the portraitures ever done . An expression that appears amused at the viewer , and at the same time , a depth of wisdom , of knowing , all a skillful illusion !
