Today we look at my Harbor Freight 3500 Watt Predator Generator - What Will It Run? It ran the converter, A/C, lights and refrigerator all at once with no problems at all. Also got 10 hrs of run time on 2.5 gallons of gas at a 7 amp constant load!!

FYI EVERYONE WHO HAS HARD TIME RESTARTING THESE WHEN ITS HOT OUTSIDE... All you have you have to do is remove the gas cap and it will start right up. Just needs to vent. Somehow it took me almost two summers to finally figure this out lol
  • @yankeesusa1
Wow, simple video and yet so informative. It's currently on sale for 698 but I'm waiting for an open box deal. But my goodness, almost every one of these 3500 reviews is so positive of what it can do. Thanks

This is EXACTLY the video I needed. Thank you, great video, you made the decision clear, getting mine today.
  • Thank you so much for all of this information. With all of the generators out there it was confusing as to which one to buy. But if the Predator 3500 can do all of that I am definitely sold. I'm heading to Harbor Freight right now!
  • Perfect, perfect. This is exactly the information I was looking for. Although I was somewhat curious as to what the microwave would do on the amps, this video still took care of all of my concerns about purchasing the Predator 3500 for RV camping off grid. Thank you so much.

Thank You...great video!!!! I got a Predator 3500 several months ago to boondock with my camper (similar size as yours/15K BTU AC) as well. I haven't really put it to the test YET! But you just did, and answered all my questions. Also gave me an excellent idea on what to expect on gas consumption! Must also say, excellent video production. Very much appreciated!!!! I subscribed and liked!

Hey man, just wanted to say thanks for the video series on this generator. I've been shopping for generators large enough to run my AC for a while now and been having a tough time deciding on one. I also have a 15k unit and it's nice to see videos showing it start up a 15k unit, gives me some assurance it will do it. I've run the numbers and it all looks good on paper... But I've had gennies look good on paper before fail to start things they should be able to. Your video helped me make up my mind, thanks!

Thanks for taking the time to do this video! I’ve watched quite a few on this model. I’m putting together a truck camper this summer (8’ bed and an A.R.E. topper), and like you, I’m in the sweltering Florida heat. HAVE to install an AC in there somewhere, and since it’s such a tiny space that I’m cooling, I’m gonna use a tiny 5k window unit that I’ll temporarily mount through the cap window when I get to my campsite. So I’m thinking about getting the next inverter Predator model down (2000 I think, can’t remember), just to run the AC and microwave. All of my other needs are rechargeables, like lights. I gotta assume the lower model can handle this, and although I would like to go for the 3000/3500 to be safe and to use for home backup purposes (hurricaneland in South Florida!), I’ve read that the weight on it is a mother. I’m a little guy, and an old fart, and don’t know if I can handle it. But your videos and others have shown me how good these gens are, especially with proper maintenance and compared to the costs of Honda and others.

Yahoooo I just got mine and I’m so excited! I watched your videos before I bought it. Now I’m going to watch it again as I unpack it. I must be a very weird woman to love this! 😂
  • That's pretty impressive! We just bought the 9000 predator for the house and I don't have one doubt that it will run the whole house!!
  • @chrism1190
Just got the Predator 4000 (non inverter and a bit louder) yesterday for use at home during power outages and to run a table saw that always trips my outside circuit. Thanks for the video. It's good to see what they can do.
  • @MoneyPitCastle
this is the video i needed. thanks so much for this. i was about to buy the 5000 one but this is more than enough
  • @AnthemBassMan
Good call on the NGK spark plug. I run NGK in everything I own. From cars to lawn mowers to chainsaw to weed eater. NGK has always proven to me that they just run better/smoother in everything I own. Now to get one of these generators.

Great video, I am so glad I saw your informative video I was the same day, going to get a Honda 3000is, but I saved about 1300 on this predator and I tried it out on my RV No issues what so ever . I loaded it up to over 2000 watts didn't even buckle. Thanks again. The NGK . BPRNES plug I think that is the number . I am going to follow your procedure, Thanks again.
  • @shofar-man
I am currently using a Coleman PowerMate 5000 for my house during outages but from your loading tests I believe the 3500 would do the job and use less fuel. Thanks for posting!
  • @shovelhead8
Looks like enough generator to do the work. Quiet enough as well. Inverter is the way to go if it is true sine wave to run any electronics. Thank you for the video, Matt
  • @bretlange969
I just bought one of these and as soon as I got it running I plugged a Lincoln 110 welder into it and it actually worked with no issues! Very impressive.
