This might help explain why wind chill affects the temperature: Blow on your wrist. Your wrist is 98° But when you blow on your wrist it feels cooler. Maybe it feels 78°. So using this example outside would be like it's 98 with a wind chill of 78. It feels like 78 but it's still 98 because wind comes and goes. The temperature of the wind feels cooler because of the speed the wind is going. If the wind stayed still the wind would be the same as the air around it 98. But when the wind moves it's cooler. Your wrist and your breath are 98 but when you turn your breath into fast air it feels like 78 because it's hitting your 98 wrist.
  • There should definitely be a let's Google it segment in each Podcast lol
  • I LOVE how comfortable Erik had gotten on the podcasts!! Almost like he looks forward to venting on the podcast! He's so adorable. I'm so happy colleen got him into podcasting

Think of the “windchill” like this : When you’re hot and you fan yourself off, it feels cooler than the room/outdoor temperature, but just because your fanning feels cool, that doesn’t mean the rest of the city is that temperature If it wasn’t windy (the “fanning”) then it’d FEEL how it was. But the wind cools you off even more. The windchill makes it seem colder because it’s the wind “fanning” you off
  • 29 km per second is almost 65 THOUSAND miles per hour. But Colleen is “not impressed” lol

Erik is right, EVERYONE is waiting to see how the best man does. If he is wasted, if he is telling groaners that make everyone uncomfortable and on and on and on…100% judged. We still talk about toasts from when I was young and all of my friends were getting married-literally 30 years after the fact😂😂😂😂😂😂
  • 53 min: Daisy flying across the room and playing in the tunnel. So cute and tiny 🥰🤗
  • @HaleyAlton211
I just got married last week and the speeches were A HUGE stress on our best man and maids of honor!😅😅 Which is so weird because I was like Colleen thinking that whatever they said would be sweet but you could tell they were all worried about it and trying to be funny but loving. It ended up amazing! But I have seen some speeches where the best man ran off stage… so I see Eric’s point too 😂😂

5 minutes in and SCREAMING at the TV🤣🤣🤣 If you go to the mountains and at night you’re guaranteed to see shooting stars! Take Erik to big bear!!!!
  • @lydia.e_nails
My favorite part Colleen: I’m so proud of you! I love you so much! 😊 Eric: stop picking on me!!! 😩
  • I have to say I agree with Eric re Best Man Speech. Finding stories of the person, making jokes about them but not too offensive. Also including the wife in the speech but focusing it on the man. There’s always the conversations about the speeches afterwards so I could imagine the pressure! Love u guys & this episode!

19:19 It's the same way how fans work to cool you down. If you take a thermometer in a room and turn on a fan, the temperature of the room won't change. The air blowing across your skin helps to evaporate sweat at a faster rate, cooling you down.

100% WITH Erik for the SHOOTING STAR thing! Happens to me all the time.
  • @jadekoo1490
I just turned 20 and yall talking about paying bills really made me think of the fact idk how to adult. I think it would be fun and informative to talk about different things you do as an adult that no one prepared you for. Also even talking about stuff that you still dont understand when it comes to adulting.
  • Wind chill is based on the rate of heat loss from exposed skin caused by wind and cold. As the wind increases, it draws heat from the body, driving down skin temperature and eventually the internal body temperature. Therefore, the wind makes it FEEL much colder.
  • I love during podcasts how you guys casually lounge a leg or arm on each other...its how my husband and I naturally sit together without thinking and I love seeing it and witnessing the love you two have together.
  • @valentine4363
I want to have Erik's skin! The man's glowing 😩🥺
  • @itsmej8564
Can Erik give us his skin care routine? His skin is always so shiny!
  • Kill-o-meters vs kill-om-it-ers is just a difference of pronunciation. As a Canadian, I've heard/say kill-om-it-er more often and I believe kill-o-meter is the British pronunciation but it wouldn't seem out of place for a Canadian to say it either. It actually would make more sense since it's a meter-based unit of measurement (we say centi-meter, not cent-om-it-er).

Regarding the weather, think of it like you have your thermostat set at 72 degrees but you have all the ceiling fans on so it feels a bit chilly. The temp is the baseline and then you have to consider the other factors such as humidity and wind.
