Thanks for taking us along on this experiment. I was wondering from the beginning how it was gonna turn out. I’m picky about my wood sizes and quality too. I really like the indoor firewood sorting facility 👌🏻👌🏻
  • That was a huge load. I am surprised you that you got the quantity you bought. I am glad that you did this experiment. You did a great job separating the wood. I would have thought you could have made more money. I am glad the quantity was there. Take care
  • Thanks for taking us along on this experience!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
  • Cool experiment Mike……another lesson learned for the test of time……Stay cool my friend! Love the “Barn” 👍🔥🪵👏🇺🇸
  • Learning experience for sure! It was interesting to see how it came out. I was betting that you wouldn’t get hurt on it but in the end since you sell more of a premium product, sorting that load was gonna be time consuming. Buying loads like that is more for your competitors that are selling it cheaper who won’t sort it😂 Cool experiment thanks for sharing Mike👊🏻

Mike, I’m OCD about my firewood and take pride in the bundles I make and sell. That was a great experiment but as you said time consuming. Working in the new pole barn is awesome. Though I use the Amish bundle that doesn’t need electricity I have switched to bundling in the pole barn exclusively because of comfort factor. Stay safe and cool 👍TCT

Hard to beat the quality of a single wedge product ie Axis...the obvious trade off is the investment in time. I think its worth it 🔥
  • @BertsCustomCuts
You could re-split some of the bigger stuff down to make bundle grade. Nice job getting it done in the heat.
  • Great experiment Mike and thanks for sharing! I'm definitely low on inventory for selling this year and I'm considering buying some smaller amounts and basically doing what you did. I wont make as much profit as usual but at least I can supply my customers. I am getting a decent start on next year's inventory since it will not be ready for this year's burning season. Great video!
  • Man, that was a huge load of wood, and looked like a ton of work sorting it out. If I could find it cheap enough, I'd consider buying green split stuff, but as picky as we are, it's hard to be satisfied with other people's work. I'm with you on just making value added firewood. Hope you're great Mike, have an awesome weekend 🤜🤛
  • @WoodsTreeFarm
That's a lot of work sorting and whatnot! I'd be resplitting some of that bulk and boiler wood to convert it into higher value bundle wood.
  • I get lot tree service wood. I sort the 14 to 18 in one bin shorts in another. Then longer up to 24 for myself. Definitely lot work. Keep up the good work stay cool ✌🏻
  • First off blue conveyor?? Whenever I buy processed firewood it is never the correct measurement and always odd ball stuff with it. Not everyone’s definition of firewood is the same. BTW sorting in the beautiful shop is cheating😂😂 Great one Mike👍👍

A 48C with a 12 way wedge can put out perfect wood...it can also put out some pretty gnarly junk. It all comes down to the logs being fed into it...
  • @dereksstuff8395
It's good to learn... never stop. Learning curves.... dammit

Darn it, I forgot to stop by and see the tractor in person. . A rule I use for unstacked cut and split wood is 180 to 195 cubic feet depending on weather it's 16" to 24" It's an approved method by several weights and mesherment state departments.
