Irv has been salty for at least 15+ years over Ashanti, Ja is loyal to her, Lloyd is loyal to her, Fat Joe be ready to faint when she comes around, Nelly eyes light up when shes in the facility, and he keeps trying to go in for hugs. Some people just naturally got that juice, that aura.

He mentioned Ashanti 5 minutes into the episode and he continued to bring her up. It's clear he is still very hurt by her leaving Murder Inc and he is expressing it. Irv definitely knows what the engraving says on the back of the watch, Ja Rule didn't need to read it, Irv has that message tattooed into his memory forever.

But the "girl that he liked alot" was his subordinate while he was MARRIED!! This much older man hasn't even talked about his wife and kids this much. Ashanti wanted her master's back just like Ja was able to get back. Irv declined. Ashanti isn't goofy, that's business. It's in the CONTRACT that she can re-record her record. When it came to business side of his statement, he's completely correct. However, it's the fact that Irv is still salty over Ashanti being with Nelly 20 years later is embarrassing. You can't sleep with your employee and expect things to operate smoothly, especially when millions of dollars are at stake. Simply incredible how a grown man can revert back to acting like a teenager when a girl decided to not fuck with you anymore. Move on and deal with it bro, it's not 2002 anymore, you're 52 years old. 🤦
