A Great POTA Video Showing All The Steps For The Activator

Published 2023-09-24
In this video I’ll introduce you to POTA (Parks On The Air) a great way to experience nature coupled with Amateur Radio. I’ll take you on a guided tour as I activate K-1449 Big Foot Beach State Park in Lake Geneva, WI.

POTA is an event driven activity and not a contest. With that thought in mind I’m not rude to the other amateur radio operators with the fast-paced communication of a contest. Rather you’ll see my style is pleasant and engaging and if a person wants to have a short QSO I’ll go back and forth with that person a few times times, and then I’ll say 73.

No way should POTA be 59 next, 59 next etc. and that’s why I like POTA.

After I had my craniotomy a year and a half ago it brought a new perspective on my life. Going forward I’m only going to do activities that bring me a joy and POTA is one of those activities. If you’re interested in my craniotomy story, I have a video on that experience on my channel. PTL for offering me a warranty extension. 
