Many planets in the original Battlefront II are actually real zoomed in locations on Earth.

If you played Star Wars Battlefront 1, if you select Yavin 4, on the loading screen when it zooms the planet's sky view, you can see the map of Sao Paulo.

I think Polis Massa is a hidden map, but not of Earth. I'm fairly certain it is a map or picture of Ganymede wrapped around the asteroid's mesh. Edit: Yavin (the planet, not the moon) appears to be a map of Mars around the area of Valles Marineris.
  • Geonisis being in its own category is kinda funny because in 2017 battlefront 2, on the geonosis map, there’s a terminal with a map of part of the planet on it and it just straight up has the Great Lakes on it with no attempt to hide it

I think Felucia might be a picture of mold, it'd fit the planet's theme. The "lakes" just being the blue mold from the picture.
  • nothing provides me more joy than realizing I wasn't schizophrenic for seeing India as an island in my Battlefront 2

In the case of Tatooine I think it's a satellite photo of the Libyan desert, I don't know what you mean by a lake because I can't see it in the texture, but the mountain in the north seem to me to be the mountainous area south west of the cities of Sawknah and Waddan in Libya, rotated 90º.

Fun fact about Geonosis, in the EA battlefront 2, you can find a map of the great lakes on a screen in the trippa hive map.

Polis Massa does have a hidden "map;" it's just a really scrunched picture of Ganymede, one of Jupiter's moons.

Galactic Conquest is neat to me because as a kid I had no idea what I was doing and didn't appreciate the added challenges and customization to gameplay. But a few years ago when I bought OG Battlefront II backwards compatible for the Xbox One, I got totally enthralled in it. I also didn't know that each faction had a neat cutscene when you won with them

Star Wars Battlefront 1 probably has some hidden maps as well. In the loading screen before each battle it zooms in on an area of the planet, and in the historical campaign you also get to see a rotating model of the planet before each battle.

Something very similar to this, a street map of Chicago was used in season 4 of Rebels for a birds-eye view of Lothal's capital.

As someone who played a lot of BF2 when younger, I never noticed this. Neat!
  • this level of map-tism is a surprise for sure but a welcome one. 😅😅👍👍

Battlefront 1 and 2 were dope back in the day

Polis massa is a squished map of Ganymede, Jupiter's moon

I really like how creative you are with tying various works of fiction into your channel’s main concept. Most creators don’t go that far!
