In this lesson, I discuss the concepts of shaft lean and the release of the club. Pulling up on the club and putting on the brakes at impact, will help throw the clubhead through for the best and most efficient strike, whilst creating spin and distance.

Another masterclass, Mr. Harrington. It is rare that a Hall of Fame level major championship winner has enthusiasm like yours to teach the masses. Respect. 🙌🙌

You tips have positively affected my entire game. By far the best golf advice for me on all of YouTube. Priceless

The quality of instruction is amazing when you are not obsessed with earning money by finding something new to say twice a week . Youake it so simple and relevant Paddy Thx
  • I'm grateful for Padraig being a YouTuber. He's not only a great player but also a great teacher.
  • You don’t know how good it is to hear this. Should be sent to all golf coaches!
  • @Carbivore67
Finally someone who can actually teach all facets of the swing.
  • Best tip I’ve seen. I’ve been playing for a year now and hit so many push cuts. When I put the brakes on, it allows me to feel a proper release, I can actually make a divot, and can turn the ball over. Really good stuff.
  • Thank you very much for sharing the secrets of golf Padraig🙏 Very useful tips!!!

I've seen nobody talk about putting the brakes on to create a pendulum effect on the club and I've been watching YouTube golf teachers for 4 years. My thanks Padraig.
  • What a wonderful channel. What a wonderful player. Wishing you success this week Paddy. Reckon I’ve watched the ‘life on tour’ interview you did at least three times 👏

Its refreshing to hear this. Many coaches have told me I flip because I release too early but the strike is so much better when I do it compared to what they try teach
  • Congrats on making the cut at the US Open! Can’t thank you enough for giving out such valuable information on your channel, has definitely made an improvement in my game! Rooting for you this weekend!

My favorite golf videos, bar none. I'm 58 and P.H. is the man.

Every insight this dude has is a fresh take that I’ve never seen elsewhere. Incredible instruction - totally hidden gem. The Padraig school of thought is beyond compare.
  • This is hands down the most impactful video instruction for aquiring a better ballstrike with the irons. Hats off to Paddy.

Thank you for all the knowledge you put out there with these lessons. Your points about getting the club head to release resonate with me. Will absolutely give this a try at my next range session. Using the lesson from your grip video and your swing videos, I have corrected a slice that I struggled with for so long it made me give up the game for a decade and a half. Am getting back into playing now and struggling with taking too much divot with my irons. Think it may just be a matter of getting the feel of my clubs and getting the flow back in my swing.

It's refreshing to get a top tour pro's prospective on the details of the golf swing. Thank you very much for sharing and growing the game!
  • @RickMansur
Wow. Never understood at all what Paddy explains in this video especially the way the hands release. Priceless. What a great golf channel!
  • @bingham7957
These all are by far the best golf instruction I've seen.

This is absolute gold. Thank you Padraig and thank you YouTube!
