This video coincides with the release of my new book "Primitive technology", which releases exactly 4 years and 6 months since my first video post on this channel. This video compilation, as well as the book, outlines all the skills and achievements I've attained in this time period using research, hard work and trial and error. Writing this book is something I wanted to do even before making videos and launching this channel. I wanted to offer something tangible that benefited those who had the same keen interest in primitive technology as I do. With that, I thank each and every one of you for your continued support throughout the years, and I really hope you enjoy the book. You can pre-order here: po.st/PrimTechBook

About Primitive Technology:
Primitive technology is a hobby where you build things in the wild completely from scratch using no modern tools or materials. These are the strict rules: If you want a fire, use a fire stick - An axe, pick up a stone and shape it - A hut, build one from trees, mud, rocks etc. The challenge is seeing how far you can go without utilizing modern technology. I do not live in the wild, but enjoy building shelter, tools, and more, only utilizing natural materials. To find specific videos, visit my playlist tab for building videos focused on pyrotechnology, shelter, weapons, food & agriculture, tools & machines, and weaving & fiber.

Approaching 10 million subs and yet not once has he asked us to “smash the subscribe button”

The tiled roof hut with the floor heating is still my favorite.
  • Because of this guy, I have atleast one fort at all of my family member's houses (at the farms and in the woods) that I built with my brother and my friend. I'm currently building a shelter in the woods next to my house using mud brick and whatever else I can manage to build with. He is such an inspiration and I remember when I first watched his videos, I was amazed at how 1 man can do all of this with the least amount of technology possible. Been with the channel for 6 years now. Much love and respect

This man got the diamond play button without saying a word. And only in a few years. Legend.

This is literally an 18-minute ad for a book, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Hey YouTube algorithms, there's a lesson to be learned here...
  • My favorite part about this channel is the weird window it gives you to the life style and mindset of early humans. How functionality and efficacy were THE deciding factors on how a lot of this stuff was made and thus how it looks.

We miss you dude ! Come back. The nature is calling you !
  • @SatanSupimpa
A book is the most advanced piece of technology I've ever seen in this channel.
  • Guy made an actual printer out of wood, rocks and dirt. Now he's selling books, what a legend.

John is one of the YouTubers who never force anyone to subscribe to his channel. It's amazing that he can make so much stuff from scratch! Keep up the good work, John. (after corona)
  • If this dude keeps improving on his primitive ideas then In 5 years this dude will be making returnable rocket engines from tree bark, frog farts and a yam.
  • @MrEazyE357
It seems like everyone, including me, missed the giant grass pants episode.
  • There will be some very confused archeologists when this guy's stuff is carbon dated.

I enjoy this channel very much, no clickbaits, no cancerous content. Only nice, healthy, useful manuals.

9:15 is my favourite The look in his eyes says: "How long do I have to wear these?"
  • still can’t believe he hasn’t learned to communicate in 4 years. It’ll be a magical day once we hear him start to grunt

John, as a fellow Aussie and follower for years. Let me just say that you deserve all the subs you have and then some. What you do is amazing and personally, I dunno how you worked any of it out lol.
