I guess you've noticed by now, I'm a bit of a Patriotic song-writer. I've always been amazed at stories of men, brave enough to carry our flag into battle...knowing that they were a primary target of enemy muskets and rifles. The bravery, sense of duty and selfless act of leadership, certainly took a very special soldier to accept this honor. I hope you enjoy this one.

    Its sad that we no longer have that kind of respect for not only our flag, but what it symbolizes- and all those who havefought and died so that we can continue to live beneath it.

    Excellent song. Very touching. My job in the Army was to escort the bodies of the fallen and participate in military funerals. We folded the flag that was draped over the casket ... and never let it touch the ground. Love the song.
