GongXi GongXi is a traditional Chinese New Year song. Recently I had the idea to mix Blues element into this traditional song.
If you are getting bored of hearing traditional new year song, I think this version will show you the new taste of CNY song, the fusion of Jazz and Rock. Actually it is the first time I have tried this way.

In order to help my audience know what I am playing, I wrote down the chorus where I played melody or improvisation.

How I made it Jazz fusion?
- I removed the usual chord like Am to A7
- I applied extension chord extensively, like b13
- I adopted the E Blues scale
- I extended the chorus part (actually repeating it) to make the whole song into complete 16 bars.
- I adopted Rock style in the rhythm section.
- I used the pre-set drum beat, but I chose the low and warm bass guitar sound for steady movement.
