Choosing what anime to watch can be incredibly difficult sometimes. So I decided to let a randomizer choose for me. Again.

  • Yatterman Night is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara who directed the Black Clover anime and the action scenes for the Chainsaw Man anime.

I think it would have been way cooler if Yatterman Night was about the pitfalls of monarchy or something. Like, even if the original Yattermen were good guys, and decided to rule the land, there's no guarantee their descendants will share their ideals. It's even possible that in order to maintain peace and live up to their ancestors' legacy, the descendants of the Yattermen overdid it with security and surveillance and became a dystopian fascist state or something.
  • I'm so glad you liked The Girl Who Lept Through Time! And what a wonderful coincidence that it would pick my recommendation out of 20-something-thousand choices. It is a lovely movie
  • Studio Orange decided to start using 3D animation in Land of the Lustrous and they were so incredible at it that everything they've done since has been in the same style - and all of them have looked fantastic. (Yes, I am still on my hands and knees begging for LotL season 2)
  • You've inspired me to get back into not only anime but watching people talk about anime... including myself! Thanks for the entertainments
  • As someone who watched both 1998 trigun and stampede and also read the manga they're all amazing in their own way. There's no point in comparing them each one is enjoyable and tells the story in a different way I recommend watching/reading them all

A mature story based on a children's cartoon where the villain gang's descendants are the protagonists with a purpose to go against the now-evil heroes. What a great premise. I'm actually interested in it

Man I was one of the people who wrote off Trigun Stampede for being CG so I didn't even really look further into it; I feel stupid for doing that now, when you said it was by the same people as Land of the Lustrous (a show that was an exception to the rule of CG anime being bad usually), then said that the original Manga author was involved, then showed the actual animation from the show being great, it was like that Vince McMahon gif of him getting more and more excited till he falls back in his chair.
  • Trigun is such a strange phenomena. I've consumed the 90's anime, remake and the manga and they are all different in both tone and plot, but still amazing in their own way. Vash is probably one of my favorite protagonists period.

Since the trailer, I immediately knew people would just be straight-up, directly negative to TRIGUN STAMPEDE. However, this is Studio Orange we're talking about. A 3D CGI powerhouse of an anime studio. I gave it a shot since I wanted something new and fresh- and boy did I get it. To be honest, I think this show excels at what it sets out to do- and it hits the mark near perfectly. The visuals, the movement, the emotions, etc., are probably the best that Orange has done, not to mention the insanely talented voice cast. My only complaint was the pacing on early episodes. The finale was borderline bonkers, it was amazing. Adding the fact that Yasuhiro Nightow, the mangaka himself, is praising STAMPEDE alllll the time when an episode airs, lol. It just sucks that plenty of people didn't ever give it a chance, and a lot of people were comparing it with 98' TRIGUN, which, I didn't really care. I don't mean that in a negative tone but I do want to watch 98' just to see the differences. Other than that though, I just wish anyone can give this a fair shot. Edit: some of these replies, Christ... can you lot relax? If you hate it that much, okay then, but just lay out more constructive criticisms instead of shitting on it. I did enjoy this show. It's a 3D anime with soul. I get that the story has problems that are present in modern storytelling, and it isn't everyone's cup of tea. I'm not sure myself on how the original anime/manga goes, but as far as I can tell, this is a story retold. And as someone who doesn't have time for anime/manga nowadays, this was really good. In my spare time I would probably look over the details they left out of it too. But does it stop me from wanting to watch the 98' anime or read TRIGUN Maximum? Hell no, it doesn't. If TRIGUN STAMPEDE was my entry point in this universe, then so is the 98' anime and Maximum for other people. Man, calm the hell down already.
  • @DeckDogs4Life
Ah man, you got super lucky with it giving you The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, such a fantastic movie.
  • @knandi2002
You've definitely sold me on Trigun Stampede, I just finished Beastars and knowing that studio Orange did this one as well it's a must watch at this point Great video as always, I think this series has a lot of potential, even though it takes a lot of time to make, I always look forward to it :D
  • @basilchi8058
this is probably my favorite series you do. i get to learn about completely random weird anime
  • @glitchedgirI
POG we love Trigun and Trigun Stampede in our household!!
  • @BFKalut
Yatterman Night 's premise seems so rad, a bit of a bummer for the twist at the end though. This video has convinced me to check out Trigun Stampede, might as well spend my Sunday watching it.
  • @brady9750
I love the amount of research you do for each anime, it really adds to the experience of the video
  • @windbrush
Liked and subscribed solely because of your review of Trigun Stampede. I was a fan of both the original anime and the manga (which are different, btw) and I absolutely loved Stampede. It got a lot of undeserved hate before it even aired, receiving criticism on everything from the CGI to the redesigns to the lack of Milly. I’m really glad that Stampede brought new Trigun fans in who are eager to check out the original stuff, and I hope they come to appreciate both versions!
  • Glad you enjoyed Trigun Stampede! Agreed that it’s a must watch show. It’s kind of ridiculous how slept on it is. I say this as a fan of the OG 98 series as well. I actually think Stampede surpasses it. Absolutely cannot wait for season 2.
