Thank you for your informative video. I have a question. If the original battery has 4 terminals and the replacement battery has 3 terminals, is there any problem using the 3 terminals battery?

I want to put a laptop battery with 2 black and 2 red wires in a homemade boombox. Use the power adapter to charge it. Am I right to assume that the adapter doesn't have all the chips to know how much to charge? Meaning the chips which communicate with the battery might be on the motherboard of the laptop?
