Song: The Noise Experiment

Heavily Inspired by Pahc

Before you start playing this platformer, just know that this is not just a regular platformer made by me, and actually has a meaning behind it. This platformer is meant to show the effects and progression of Alzheimer's. This is (In my understanding) one of, and if not, the first platformer on Scratch representing a disease.

1-4: Starting off, the repetitive design and gameplay can show how well the brain can remember a certain thing. For the first few levels, everything seems fine, just a little fuzzy, but they can still understand what it is.

5-10: Starting at about level 5, some things are starting to become forgotten, but they can still remember. It needs a little bit of effort, but not much, but it slowly gets harder and harder to remember. The background is getting inaccurate, and spikes are getting harder to recognize.

11-14: After this, there is a very obvious change. The brain is repeatedly trying to remember a certain thing, but can’t see it. The colors are faded, but the brain still knows what is is. It recognized it, but is having a really hard time to describe, or figure out what it is.

15-20: Next, starting at about level 15, the condition is worsening. The person can talk, but completely lost at thinking who someone is. Deep down, they recognize them, but their brain is unable to process it.

21-27: The next part is very different. The person is trying to remember fragments of their memory. They keep trying, but they are failing.

28-32: Now, the person can still recognize what they are seeing, but don't know what it is. Don't know who they are, don't know where they are, can't talk, and can't understand what people are saying.

33-37: At this moment, the person is just... alive. The brain is doing its best to keep this person alive. They can't think, understand anything, or even move.

38-50: Everything the person knows is nothing at this moment. The brain can't even understand how to be alive. The brain is using all of it's power just to keep the person alive, but in the end, it can't do it. The brain has forgotten how to be alive...
