Goodbye - A Harpvor Story

The wind whistled round Ivor's ears, making his dark hair blow everywhere. He didn't notice. "Doesn't it seem like dreams are reality until they aren't?" He said to her. No reply. "I dreamt we'd be together forever." Still no reply. "I miss you, you know that? I'd been alone my entire life until I found you. Now, even you're gone." The darkening light made Ivor realize it was time to head home soon. But not yet. "We never even got to be married." he pauses, as if to wait for a non-existent reply. Silence. "This is why we dream. Reality is just too cruel." Still nothing. It was almost pitch dark. "You know I came here because I love you? I still do, even though you're gone." It's almost dark now. "I have to go now, Harper." a pause. "Goodbye." He kisses the gravestone, though it's cold and rough on his lips. The wind whistles again. "I love you" it seems to be saying as it rushes through the trees. "Goodbye."
