Set me as a seal upon your heart,
A seal upon your arm,
For love is strong as death,
Jealousy is fierce as the grave.
Its flashes are flashes of fire,
The very flame of the Lord.
With a steady fire, a burning flame,
A dream so abased,
Of beauty, of power, of fame,
And a sour after-taste.
A soul ablaze may not foretell,
The very demise of its puny life,
Of love, of desire, a worldly hell,
And of a man a hell in the afterlife.
Persevere.
To every puzzle there is a solution to which it all unwinds,
And in every darkness a light sl bright it almost blinds,
When all who looked upon you saw a hopeless, dying thing,
