Trans Chicago program helps Latino and African-American transgender people to obtain comprehensive HIV prevention or treatment services. It should be noted services are not limited to soley those identified under the trans umbrella.

What is Trans Chicago aiming to accomplish? Trans Chicago aims to assist the client with education to reduce the risk of HIV transmission, improve outcomes for those living with HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis C, and ultimately reduce new infections.

What are the program’s key strategies for making this happen? Trans Chicago is a program established by the Puerto Rican Cultural Center (PRCC). PRCC’s special mission is to implement programs that focus on prevention and management of HIV/AIDS, raising awareness of issues facing the LGBTQ community, controlled substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, racism, and human rights violations.
