I put my songs here as a way of sharing my thoughts and feelings, albeit often with a satirical edge, and to encourage feedback either via YouTube or email on the some of the issues raised by some songs. I hope you like them.

I have written about 190 songs over a 1/3 in German, the rest in English, apart from a few French songs. Some more are on the homepage www.jamesclifford.at where you can download songs for free as an mp3 together with a pdf file with the lyrics and chords. I prefer sitting somewhere comfortable and writing, rather than in a room in front of a microphone. However, more songs will be recorded in 2020.

In addition, I have a repertoire of about 400 cover songs - mostly folk, blues, jazz and modern ballads, which I enjoy singing at parties and other celebrations - but I haven’t put any on Youtube.
