About Brent Joseph

Brent Joseph is an award-winning writer & director. His most recent film, BEIRUT ON THE BAYOU, tells the story of his Lebanese family who worked as peddlers in South Louisiana’s Cajun communities during the early 20th century. In HOLDOUT and A LOUD COLOR, Brent created two unique portraits of his hometown of New Orleans, as residents grappled with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. His fiction work includes, BULLFROGS, a transgressive re-telling of the damsel-in-distress story and MIRZA THE MIRACULOUS, a tale of phony prophets which incorporated abstract paintings and an original score by organist and inventor, Quintron. Brent has previously worked as an assistant editor in the cutting rooms of David Fincher, Larry Clark, and Seth Rogen and as an editor on several features & TV episodes including: “MTV's TRUE LIFE: I’M LIVING IN IRAQ (Edward R. Murrow award for Best TV Network News Documentary) and SHELL SHOCKED (PBS).
