At Carmen's Place, I share my life-long (I'm 67) fascination with skin care and beauty. I have happy memories of being a little girl, sitting at my mom's vanity and slathering on her Pond's Cold Cream.

I can still smell the Noxema, Clearasil and Bonne Bell that permeated my little bedroom as I fought teenage acne. Back then, I read every issue of Glamour and eagerly practiced with the tutorials on applying the perfect makeup look.

By my twenties and thirties (it was the 80/90's) I was into luxury dept. store skin-care and make-up. Clinique and Lancome were the go-tos. I worked in television in LA so trips to fancy Beverly Hills Facial salons like Aida Thibiant were de riguer!

In the last 15 years, I've been on the search for clean effective "pro-aging" skincare that works. I've also come to appreciate how finding the perfect foundation and a new lipstick can brighten your whole day!
